Assessment Technologies Institute Tests (ATI)

We have collaborated with the Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) to help students successfully prepare for the NCLEX-RN tests. ATI is a computerized assessment and review program that is nationally standardized. We’re using this system in an effort to build successful NCLEX scores.

The ATI system is beneficial to students in other ways as well, helping them:

  • assess knowledge of current course content,
  • prepare for course finals, and
  • evaluate computer assessment skills.

A good score on the RN Comprehensive assessment in the senior year is predictive of success on the NCLEX exam.

Features and Benefits

  • Review books and some DVDs are provided for each content assessment.
  • Assessment results will help you evaluate your strengths and weaknesses.
  • You know the results and will print them out right after the assessment.
  • The assessment and review books will guide your future studying in a particular content area.
  • The nonproctored assessments are available as soon as you register and are open to use for one year after you graduate (write the password in your book!).

Content Areas

Proctored exams that follow current NCLEX-RN blue prints cover the following content:

  • Medical-Surgical
  • Maternal-Newborn
  • Nursing Care of Children
  • Mental Health
  • Pharmacology of Nursing Practice
  • Leadership and Management for Nursing

In addition to the proctored exams, students have unlimited access to nonproctored exams for each of the content areas above for remediation and review.

Sign up for ATI testing

Students must visit ATI Testing to register for the program one time in their academic career; be sure to note your username and password because you will need this throughout your academic career each time you return to the ATI Testing site to do practice tests. After you’ve registered for ATI and ordered your books, you may select your assessment section; login with your Indiana University username and password. Select one time and date for your course assessment as noted:

  • B232 takes Critical Thinking
  • B248 takes Fundamentals
  • H351 takes Mental Health
  • H363/364 take Maternal and Care of Children
  • S472 and S470 take Community and Medical Surgical
  • S481, S484, and S485 take Pharmacology, Leadership, and RN Comprehensive

You may go back in and change the date selected as long as room is still available. In addition, a make up date is also available if you are sick or miss your scheduled testing date.
