Course for academic credit

RNs, students in the sixth semester of a BSN program, or ASN students in the third semester may take the complete course for six (three for didactic and three for the full practicum) academic credit hours.

The cost for the course is the current price for one credit hour of undergraduate level education at in-state tuition rates times the number of credit hours in the course. If not currently enrolled at Indiana University there will be associated admission fees.

Students taking the didactic core course only will earn three academic credits upon successful completion of the course requirements.

Students taking the didactic and clinical practicum will earn six academic credits upon successful completion of the course requirements.

To register for academic credit, please contact the Center for Academic Affairs, (317) 274-2806 or send e-mail to nursing [at] iupui [dot] edu for current costs and procedures.

Credit Transfer to Another School of Nursing

Most schools of nursing have policies to transfer in six to twelve credits from another school of nursing or allow you to submit a portfolio that can be reviewed for academic credits. You should check with your school of nursing about specific policies.
