About Indianapolis, Indiana

The crown jewel of the Midwest, Indianapolis offers a veritable kaleidoscope of activity. Indianapolis is home of the three largest single-day sporting events in the world—the Indianapolis 500 as well as the Brickyard 400. Indianapolis is also the home of the largest children’s museum in the world, which houses the largest water clock in North America. As the 12th largest city in the United States, Indianapolis' downtown has 15 parks, more than 200 eating and drinking establishments, 300 retail stores, and 175 service businesses. There are also 30 churches and 5 downtown hospitals. Indianapolis is also the headquarters for the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Major downtown attractions include the Athenaeum, White River Canal, Circle Centre Mall, Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Monument, Indiana War Memorial, White River State Park, Indianapolis Artsgarden, Indianapolis Zoo, Scottish Rite Cathedral, Veteran’s Memorial Plaza, City Market, and the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Whether it is the quiet and serene environments of the Canal, White River Gardens, the Zoo Complex, the many museums, theater, and live entertainment venues, or the world-class dining and shopping, there is plenty to enjoy!
