Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) Instructor Education

Dates: May 5, 2010. A minimum of 10 participants is required for the course to be held.
Cost: $175
Contact Hours: 5.6 (2007)
Attendance at the entire session is required and completion of the program evaluation to receive contact hours.

Location: IUPUI Greenwood campus, 555 East County Line Road, Greenwood, IN. In the Indiana-American Water Company building.

This program is for registered nurses (RNs) who will be teaching the QMA course. Additional minimum requirements can be found in the menu above.

The program will review program operational standards to be used in the development and presentation of an educational program for qualified medication aide (QMA). Adult learning concepts, teaching strategies, and assessment of learning as applied to the standards will also be presented.
You will:

  • Use knowledge of the operational standards to develop, present, and evaluate a QMA education program.
  • Apply adult learning principles.
  • Identify tools and techniques to be used to assess learning.

Participants must bring a three-inch binder to the program. The binder will be used for the instructor’s guide.
