Indiana University School of Nursing is seeking qualified candidates for the Angela Barron McBride Endowed Professor in Mental Health Nursing. The McBride Professor will join a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to forward-looking research and collaborative practice with nurse scientists and researchers in the Center for Enhancing Quality of Life in Chronic Illness (CEQL) and the Mary Margaret Walther Program for Behavioral Oncology Research. The McBride Professor will establish innovative educational offerings and a program of scholarship in which doctoral and post-doctoral students and faculty receive state-of-the-science training in behavioral mental health nursing research.
Qualified applicants must hold an earned doctorate in nursing or a doctorate in a related field with a graduate degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing. The successful applicant will have a record of scholarship suitable for a senior tenure-track position and appointment as a tenured full professor. Indiana University School of Nursing is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs. This position is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the curriculum of the baccalaureate nursing program. Enrolling approximately 800 students within the core campus school of nursing (Indianapolis, Bloomington and Columbus), the baccalaureate program consists of three tracks: traditional, second-degree and RN-BSN. The Associate Dean is a member of the executive academic leadership group, is a member of the Dean’s Council and Executive Administrative Group of the school, and participates in faculty governance as elected or appointed. Indiana University School of Nursing has been designated a NLN Center of Excellence in recognition of the faculty’s pedagogical expertise. The Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs is responsible for providing leadership to a dynamic, innovative faculty situated in a large, urban academic health center.
Responsibilities include: provides strategic and administrative direction in all aspects of undergraduate curricula; promotes teaching excellence; coordinates undergraduate activities with department chairs and other school administrators; implements a continuous quality improvement process and monitors program outcomes; provides leadership in establishing innovative programming and partnerships; recruits quality students; ensures students are provided positive learning experiences that result in competent professionals; collaborates with chairs to assign faculty teaching responsibilities; represents the School of Nursing’s undergraduate programs within the University and to external constituents; and other related duties.
Qualified applicants must hold an earned doctorate in nursing or a doctorate in a related field with a graduate degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing, as well as experience in curriculum development and evaluation, knowledge of professional accreditation standards, experience with implementing student admission, progression and graduation policies, teaching experience in higher education with a record of teaching excellence, innovation and creativity, a record of scholarly achievement, and be licensed or eligible for Indiana RN licensure. Administrative experience and demonstrated excellence in leadership and interpersonal skills are also required. The successful applicant will have a record of scholarship suitable for a senior tenure-track position and appointment as a tenured associate or full professor.
