University Council of Nursing Faculty (UCNF)

This council was established to provide an organizational structure through which Indiana University School of Nursing faculty on all eight campuses can exercise the rights and responsibilities of university faculty governance that facilitates networking, collaboration, and transferability.

Through this organizational structure, the UCNF aids in the identification, definition, and accomplishment of common objectives for nursing faculty.

Committees

The council has two main committees—the Oversight/Steering Committee and the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee (UCC). The Oversight/Steering Committee supports and implements the UCNF’s functions. The UCC serves various purposes:

  • To facilitate the processing of system curricular issues;
  • To represent faculty by voting on substantive curricular changes and revisions; and
  • To assure curricular evaluation.

Awards

The UCNF also serves the faculty by awarding teaching and service awards and offering the annual Mary Culbertson Symposium.
