Learning Resource Center
Computer Classrooms
The RCICNE contains two computer classrooms dedicated to classroom teaching:
- NU 330P—contains 6 workstations
- NU 313—contains 12 computers and a printer
Nursing 330P is located to the east of the RCICNE foyer, and Nursing 313 is located in the southwest corner of the Center. All printing from either classroom will print in Nursing 313.
Computer workstation reservations
School of Nursing faculty who want to reserve either of the two computer classrooms should contact Kathleen Rieman at
krieman [at] iupui [dot] edu or by phone (317) 274-3493.
Public Computer Lab
Nursing 342 is the UITS Student Technology Center. The lab is open during the academic year (fall and spring semesters): Monday–Thursday 7:15 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Friday 7:15 a.m.– 4 p.m. Summer hours are Monday–Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Access to the Lab is restricted during Kaplan testing to nursing students registered to take a Kaplan test.
Printing
Both computer classrooms require a JagTag in order to print. Color prints or print requests over a student's university print allotment must have sufficient funds on deposit on the JagTag. For more information, about making deposits to your card, see the Student Accounts page.
Software
All computers have access to
- Windows Microsoft Office 2010 and Mac Office 2011 applications including word processing (Word), spreadsheet (Excel), database (Access), and presentation (PowerPoint)
- Discipline-specific software including physical assessment, arrhythmia analysis, encyclopedia of nursing skills, and simulation
- Citation software including Endnote
- Multimedia software including iTunes and Audacity
- Statistical software: SPSS
- Oncourse, the online course delivery system
- OneStart, the single “front door” to all Indiana University online services
CD-ROMS
Windows security prevents students or faculty from installing or running CD-ROMs in either the RCICNE computer classrooms or in the UITS Computer Lab (NU 342). If faculty wish students to view CD-ROMs from the computers, the software must be installed on the computers prior to assignment. Contact Kathleen Rieman by telephone (317) 274-3493 or by e-mail krieman [at] iupui [dot] edu for more information.
