Awards and Fellowships
Richard and Diane Billings Faculty Award
Provide an opportunity for full-time nursing faculty members from Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Columbus campuses to pursue scholarly interests related to teaching excellence and innovations.
Ethel Clarke Fellowship
Available to nursing faculty from the Indianapolis, Bloomington or Columbus campuses, this Fellowship will provide monies both to the School and to the faculty member for a mini-sabbatical for the purpose of moving forward a scholarly project that will lead to external funding.
Beverly Flynn Endowed Fund for Health Policy
To invest in young (degree of experience) faculty for the purpose of providing them with educational experiences allowing them to explore health delivery systems, the philosophy of health policy and international health issues as well as to provide exposure to various cultures for the purpose of understanding, enlightening and empowering students and young faculty in furthering their knowledge of health care policy, health care delivery systems and/or providing health care (service learning) to population groups.
Rose M. Mays Excellence in Teaching Diversity Fund
To support teaching activities of full-time nursing faculty employed by the School of Nursing on the Indianapolis, Bloomington, or Columbus campuses to enhance their capabilities to prepare nurse clinicians and researchers who will contribute to reducing and eliminating health inequities for racial and ethnic minorities.
Lois C. Meier Teaching Excellence Award
For full-time School of Nursing faculty members to support enhancing achievement of his/her developmental or outcome goals pertinent to teaching or research activities.
Nursing Faculty Development Fund
This grant is given bi-annually to a full-time nursing faculty member to pursue scholarly interests related to developing the scholarship of teaching or leadership skills for faculty governance. It is expected that the findings of the project will be publicly disseminated.
The DAISY Faculty Award
The DAISY Faculty Award honorees personify IUSON's part-time/adjunct faculty and preceptors’ remarkable impact on students and therefore patients. These instructors consistently demonstrate excellence through their clinical expertise and extraordinary compassionate care, and they are recognized as outstanding role models in our nursing community.
Center for Research in Nursing Education Pilot Studies
The Center for Research in Nursing Education is pleased to announce a call for proposals for pedagogical research. Funding of up to $10,000 will be available to selected researchers who propose studies that show high potential for securing future external funding to advance the science of nursing education. Funds may be used for data collection, analysis, travel, conferences, and publication support. Proposals will be externally reviewed by researchers with expertise in nursing education and/or specific research methodologies appropriate to proposals.
