Master of Science Nursing (MSN) Graduation
MSN students who plan to graduate at the end of a given semester must complete an “Intent for Graduation" form. Failure to file by the deadline may delay your official date of graduation. Commencement ceremonies are planned by the Indiana University Office of Ceremonies.
Deadlines for submitting the form are as follows:
- December graduates must apply by September 30th
- May, June, and August graduates must apply by February 15th
Documenting post-graduation employment setting is important as a federal compliance rule. Therefore to the best of your ability complete the employment practice setting section of the Intent for Graduation Form. Service in Health Profession Shortage Areas (HPSA) is important to document. Review the Indiana Deaprtment of Health HPSA map to determine if you are, or will be, employed in a HPSA.
You will be able to edit the Intent for Graduatione form later if you are unsure of your employment area at this time.
Graduates must supply an accurate post-graduation e-mail address for future correspondence. Students will be contacted using this address when diplomas arrive on campus. This is typically two months after graduation occurs because all campus diplomas are ordered at the same time.
MSN students complete the Intent for Graduation form. A copy of the form will automatically be sent to your faculty advisor.
If you have additional questions or inquiries contact your Academic Advisor or the Graduate Advisor at msngrad [at] iupui [dot] edu
You will receive information on ordering cap and gown from the IU Alumni Office at the end of February.
